Employee Spotlight: Kristopher Berdy
At After, Inc. we like to celebrate the great minds behind the work we do. There are so many moving parts behind the scenes here – and whether it’s coding, selling, designing, analyzing, printing, or any of the other 70+ roles we comprise – no job is too big or too small. That’s why we feel it’s important to show off the unique and talented people who are keeping our tight ship afloat.
So, without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to Kristopher Berdy, Lettershop Services Developer at After, Inc. Known simply as “Berdy” to many of us, he has been absolutely fundamental to our direct mail services and successes over the years. In fact, we will be celebrating his esteemed 20th anniversary with the company this week – an impressive career milestone that we would like to recognize and applaud. Let’s get to know him a little better…
What was your first job?
A paper route I shared with my older brother
Getting to know Kristopher
Kristopher works out of our Louisville offices, specifically our lettershop, which is located right on the outskirts of the Derby City in Jeffersonville, IN. Interestingly, although he works from our “Southern” offices, Kristopher actually grew up in Upstate New York – much closer to our headquarters on the east coast!
Kristopher has been married to his wife, Robyn, for 7 years and they happily welcomed their first baby, Marshall Lee, to their family back in May of last year. Like many of us at After, Inc., Kristopher also has a few fur babies – Squishy, his 18-year-old cat; Cassie, his 11-year-old Terrier mix; and Buddy, his 4-year-old Golden Retriever.
What was the best concert you ever attended?
Eagles of Death Metal. Their showmanship and crowd rapport made for an absolutely electric show.

As we said earlier, Kristopher is a developer and has been working in the Aftermarket industry for over 20 years now. His level of experience is immeasurable and we are proud to be able to offer it our clients. So, what exactly does a Developer of Lettershop Services do? Well, on a normal day Kristopher’s role consists of developing intricate processes for the Lettershop to employ, and then providing support and maintenance to manage them. He also works a lot in PostScript development (a computer coding language used by publishers and printers) where he ensures our clients’ direct mail is being accurately programmed to work with the various types of printing technology we use.
The new coding methods and procedures we’ve put in place were challenging, but amazing.
Speaking of Berdy’s experience, one accomplishment he is especially proud of during his time with After, Inc. was his part in the recent enhancements to our print technologies and capabilities. This initiative was a massive undertaking that had been in discussion for years, and he was able to play a huge role in seeing it finally come to fruition. He says, “the new coding methods and procedures we’ve put in place are amazing.”
If you could have dinner with one person, deceased or living, who would it be and why?
Richard Winters. He is interesting, and his life is pretty well documented. I still think it would be pretty cool to just chat the guy up for a bit.
